Albert Hahn was born 1849 in Germany.His wife Bertha was born 1856 in Germany. They emmigrated to America with four of five children and an additional son was born in Wisconsin as they traveled west and settled in Washington Territory as pioneers. After establishing themselves in Elgin, Washington(Now known as Glenwood), Bertha gave birth to an additional son.They lived on the border of Kitsap and Pierce Counties.Her obituary in the old Tacoma Ledger newspaper states she was a 35yr. resident of Pierce County and member of the Lutheran Church.
In the 1920 census of Minter District, the place of birth listed for Albert and Bertha Hahn and their parents was Stacten, Germany and the year of immigration was 1889. The German spelling of Stacten is Städten and is in Anholt Sassen.
